The 2016 National Multicultural Festival is over for another year, but what a weekend. Record crowds turned out to celebrate the 20th anniversary and Canberra turned on a spectacular weekend.
As the Minister for Multicultural Affairs I am lucky to spend the entire festival getting around to various stages, opening events, meeting new people, trying amazing food from all over the world and enjoying what I believe is the best event on our city's calendar.
I have too many highlights to mention, but thank you to everyone involved, especially the festival volunteers, the community volunteers, the cleaners (who do an amazing job) and the over 280,000 visitors who came along to celebrate Canberra's diverse multicultural community.
